While recovering from an auto accident a few years ago, I was confined to my apartment and had to keep my feet elevated. To pass the time, I researched my father’s maternal family and made a digital scrapbook for my daughters.
I fell in love with digital storybooks because it meant no messy dining room table and I was able to produce as many books as I wanted in the same time it would have taken me to produce one traditional scrapbook. And I did all this from my easy chair, with my feet up!
Digital storybooks is a form of scrapbooking, but done on a computer using digital or scanned photos and a computer graphics software program. Kits are available to purchase and you can be as basic or as creative as you wish. Many of these kits provide templates that help to move your project along at a quicker pace. These kits can be used again and again to make new scrapbook pages.
Some creative people use a combination of digital scrapbooking with traditional scrapbooking by creating layouts on the computer, printing them, then adding traditional embellishments such as ribbons and stickers.
If you enjoy working on the computer, this may be something you should try. You can check it out here.
